Mouse | CD80 | 941 | CD80 molecule | Here, we report that the combination of IFN-alpha and CD80 cancer gene therapy in poorly immunogenic murine tumor models, the colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line MC38, and the methylcholanthrene-induced fibrosarcoma cell line MCA205 reduces tumor growth more efficiently without affecting in vitro growth. | Human | ENPP7 | 339221 | ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 7 | The aim of this study was to analyze the alkaline sphingomyelinase activity in feces from healthy subjects and colorectal adenocarcinoma patients and to correlate it with the enzyme activity in intestinal tissues.MATERIALS AND METHODS: The enzyme activity was measured both in the intestinal samples from 12 healthy controls and 51 patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma (tumoral and paratumoral tissue) and in the fecal samples of 34 healthy subjects and 29 patients with adenocarcinoma. As occurs in neoplastic tissues, a relevant mean reduction (P < 0.0001; almost 90%) of alkaline sphingomyelinase was revealed in stool samples from tumor patients when compared with controls.CONCLUSION: These findings may have implications for cancer biology and perhaps also for the design of clinical test, thus suggesting that the fecal sphingomyelinase activity could really reflect the human intestinal mucosa enzyme level and could represent a new marker for human colorectal adenocarcinoma, mainly taking into account its early appearance in intestinal neoplasms. The relation between sphingomyelinase activity and Dukes; stage, cell differentiation degree, age, and gender was also analyzed.RESULTS: Alkaline sphingomyelinase was significantly decreased (P < 0.001; mean reduction >90%) in tumoral intestinal mucosa of patients compared with controls independently of Dukes; stage and tumor differentiation grade. We recently found that the activity of alkaline sphingomyelinase is significantly decreased in colorectal adenocarcinomas, indicating a potential anticarcinogenic role of this enzyme. | Human | POTED | 317754 | POTE ankyrin domain family, member D | POTE genes were shown to be highly expressed in human Caco-2 colorectal adenocarcinoma cells and downregulated by fenofibrate and 9-cis-retinoic acid, as attested by RT-PCR assays. | Human | FOXQ1 | 94234 | forkhead box Q1 | Additionally, overexpression of human FOXQ1 was shown in colorectal adenocarcinoma and lung carcinoma cell lines. | Human | MUC16 | 94025 | mucin 16, cell surface associated | In ovarian metastases from undiagnosed colorectal adenocarcinomas, elevated CA-125 levels and frequent coexpression of cytokeratin 7 are features that can contribute to misclassification of these metastases as primary ovarian neoplasms | Human | PPP1R1B | 84152 | protein phosphatase 1, regulatory (inhibitor) subunit 1B | Click here to display 5 evidence detail records. | Human | REG4 | 83998 | regenerating islet-derived family, member 4 | Realtime quantitative RT-PCR (Q-PCR) was applied to detect the expression of 14-3-3 zeta, REG4 and 6 ribosomal protein genes (RPS2, RPS12, RPS27A, RPL5, RPL7a and RPL10a) in 14 adenomas (8 with concurrent cancers) and 44 colorectal adenocarcinomas with paired normal mucosa. Of 36 colorectal adenocarcinomas, 13 (36.1%) were positive for Reg IV, which was associated with tumour stage (p = 0.0379, Fisher;s exact test). Of 36 colorectal adenocarcinomas, 13 (36.1%) were positive for Reg IV, which was associated with tumour stage (p = 0.0379, Fisher;s exact test). | Human | EIF5A2 | 56648 | eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A2 | EIF5A2 is highly expressed in testis and colorectal adenocarcinoma and at moderate levels in the brain, in contrast to the ubiquitously expressed EIF5A1 gene. | Human | SH3GLB1 | 51100 | SH3-domain GRB2-like endophilin B1 | down-regulation of Bif-1 during the transition from normal colorectal mucosa to colorectal adenocarcinoma | Human | CHST11 | 50515 | carbohydrate (chondroitin 4) sulfotransferase 11 | Dot blot analysis has shown that human C4ST is strongly expressed in colorectal adenocarcinoma and peripheral blood leukocytes, whereas strong expression of human chondroitin 6-sulfotransferase (C6ST) is observed in aorta and testis. | Human | EMR2 | 30817 | egf-like module containing, mucin-like, hormone receptor-like 2 | Detection of alternatively spliced EMR2 mRNAs in colorectal tumor cell lines but rare expression of the molecule in colorectal adenocarcinomas. In contrast to CD97, which is found in most colorectal adenocarcinomas, only 8 of 81 of these tumors expressed EMR2. | Human | BBC3 | 27113 | BCL2 binding component 3 | We have investigated the mRNA expression of PUMA with real-time PCR in 94 colorectal adenocarcinomas and the corresponding normal mucosa. | Human | AMACR | 23600 | alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase | Click here to display 5 evidence detail records. | Human | RPH3A | 22895 | rabphilin 3A homolog (mouse) | analysis of a novel single nucleotide polymorphism in the 5' untranslated region of the Rabphillin-3A-Like gene in colorectal adenocarcinoma | Human | METAP2 | 10988 | methionyl aminopeptidase 2 | High expression of methionine aminopeptidase 2 in human colorectal adenocarcinomas. In addition, immunohistochemistry analysis revealed that all cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity for MetAP2 with increased intensity in the invasive component. MetAP protein has a role in colorectal adenocarcinoma progression | Human | CYSLTR1 | 10800 | cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 | There is increased nuclear localization of the CysLT(1) receptor in colorectal adenocarcinomas | Human | CXCR6 | 10663 | chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 6 | Expression of chemokine receptor CXCR6 in human colorectal adenocarcinomas. | Human | DEAF1 | 10522 | DEAF1 transcription factor | Therefore, we evaluated the status of spn and its prognostic value in human colorectal adenocarcinoma (CRC). Altered subcellular localization of suppressin, a novel inhibitor of cell-cycle entry, is an independent prognostic factor in colorectal adenocarcinomas. | Human | MSLN | 10232 | mesothelin | Among 150 carcinomas of multiple anatomic sites, we found the highest average expression of MSLN in serous carcinomas of the ovary and adenocarcinomas of the pancreas, consistent with previous reports, as well as measurable but less-striking expression in pulmonary, gastric/esophageal, and colorectal adenocarcinomas. | Human | ZBTB33 | 10009 | zinc finger and BTB domain containing 33 | Data imply an unexpected influence of the microenvironment on Kaiso expression and localizationin colorectal adenocarcinoma | Human | MVP | 9961 | major vault protein | The aim of the present study is the establishment of a drug-resistant subline from human colorectal adenocarcinoma HCT-15 that intrinsically expresses moderate levels of P-gp, MRP and LRP. | Human | CCNB2 | 9133 | cyclin B2 | Click here to display 8 evidence detail records. | Human | TP63 | 8626 | tumor protein p63 | In neoplastic tissues, p63 was diffusely expressed in all cases of esophageal squamous cell dysplasia and carcinoma but was negative in all cases of esophageal and colorectal adenocarcinoma. | Human | RFXANK | 8625 | regulatory factor X-associated ankyrin-containing protein | RFX-B protein expression in human colorectal adenocarcinomas and in normal adjacent tissue was analysed in this study.
